The Quick Change Pump (Patent Pending)

The New Way of Addressing Machine Downtime From Malfunctioning Ink Pumps

One of the innovative developments by founder Robert Williamson is the Quick Change Ink Pump System. Cut your downtime dramatically with this easy-to-change ink pump system.

Currently available pumps require tools and an experienced repair technician to perform the replacement of a pump. The design of the Quick Change Diaphragm Pump System enables the user to quickly and without the aid of tools replace a worn-out pump with minimal machine downtime or labor hours. This would allow the user to efficiently schedule the repair of the suspect pump.

The system can be expanded to allow the use of multiple pumps on a single base. The pump is attached to a base, which has internal flow passageways that allow the use of one pump to perform the task of others. The system's base has internal flow passageways that are designed in such a manner that it controls the flow of liquid, not the individual pump. The base design allows adaptation of this system to any applications that require the flow of liquid to complete their usefulness. The base is also adaptable to allow for all types of sensors and devices that could improve the system's usefulness. The newly designed pump system allows the user to reduce the inventory of different pumps and standardize them. This results in less spare parts inventory for the end user. The pump itself comprises a standard manufactured pump and parts, replacing its original manifolds with specially designed manifolds to redirect its input and output flow characteristics.

QuickFab-designed pump manifolds allow the pump to be removed or replaced on its base without the use of any tools. The pump is coupled to its base by a system of anchoring studs. The studs serve as guides that ensure proper alignment and retain the sealing mechanisms for the passageways, which allow the flow of liquid from the redesigned pump to its base. The redesigned pump’s intake and exhaust valving is made accessible for easy maintenance and replacement without tools, or disassembly of the redesigned pump by an external retention device. Our new pump manifolds are designed in such a way that all the valving, either intake or exhaust, is installed the same way to reduce the possibility of a mistake in their installation.
